cosMOBILE: An Interactive A/V Tour

Have it your way…the story of space exploration that is. With the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center’s brand new mobile audio/visual tour, aptly named cosMOBILE (that’s mobile as in “mobile phone” not mobile as in “automobile”), visitors can experience the rich history and exciting future of space exploration in a multitude of ways. It’s the Hall of Space Museum like you’ve never seen it, right in the palm of your hand.

THE APOLLO F-1 CONSERVATION PROJECT OBSERVATION GALLERY TOUR

Available for Group Tours ONLY. Call the group sales manager at 620.665.9340, or e-mail here for details.

Your group tour begins in the Hall of Space Museum’s Apollo Gallery. Visitors are then shuttled to the Cosmosphere’s SpaceWorks division to view the Apollo F-1 conservation efforts underway. No direct access to SpaceWorks is available without the initial gallery group tour.

From SpaceWorks' Observation Gallery, visitors have a clear view of the conservators as they preserve the mammoth engines that powered Americans to the Moon. Some recovered engine artifacts weigh more than 2,000 pounds, while others are as small as a dime.

naviGATOR FLIGHT SIMULATOR**

Visitors to the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center will be able to command a mission to space or pilot supersonic aircraft, all from the comfort of a seven-passenger simulator. The motion simulator by Flight Avionics of North America, Inc. provides six thrilling themed rides. From blasting off to the International Space Station to soaring with the Blue Angels, the simulator offers an experience to suit every adventurous spirit.
