Mollett Early Spaceflight Gallery

In this gallery, visitors come face-to-face with American heroes and Soviet secrets. The gallery's comprehensive collection includes the flown Gemini X spacecraft, a flown unmanned Russian Vostok and a full-scale engineering model of the manned Voskhod. The centerpiece of the gallery is the Liberty Bell 7 Mercury capsule flown by Virgil "Gus" Grissom in 1961.

Actual space suit worn by Wally Schirra on MA-8/Sigma 7. The Mercury space suit was a modified version of a U.S. Navy high-altitude jet aircraft pressure suit, with an inner layer of neoprene-coated nylon fabric and an outer layer of aluminized nylon.
