WHAT IS FATP?
FATP, the Future Astronaut Training Program, is the hallmark educational program of the Kansas Cosmosphere and
Space
Center
. In this 5-day experiential camp, students learn the fundamentals of communication, space science, problem solving and teamwork in a setting that is out of this world. For the past 23 years, the award-winning Education Staff has transformed and accelerated young minds and fulfilled our mission of "summoning the future and preserving the past."

COUNSELOR JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Completed 1 year of college (any field of study eligible)
- Committed to the Cosmosphere for the entire summer
(end of May - beginning of August)- weekends required.
- 1 letter of recommendation
- 1 professional resume
- Strong interest in working with children and/or adolescents
- Completion of the Counselor Training Program - May 23-25, 2008

COSMOSPHERE APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1 - Read the Welcome Letter from the Camp Programs Manager
Step 2 - Download and complete the Counselor Inquiry Form. Please make sure you specify which position you are applying for on the Counselor Inquiry Form (ie. Counselor or Junior Counselor)
Step 3 - Download and complete the Application for Employment
Step 4 - Send completed Counselor Inquiry Form, Application for Employment, resume and letter of recommendation to:

Interviews will be held over winter vacation (December 5, 2007 - January 15, 2008) or spring vacation (March 11 - 16, 2008) between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. A representative from the Cosmosphere will contact you if you are selected to interview. Face-to-face interviews are required and encouraged by the senior FATP staff. The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center conducts FBI and Department of Transportation background checks on all hired FATP employees.
