After more than 15 years of taking Future Astronaut Training Program campers to Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center has added the opportunity for advanced campers to get a behind-the-scenes look at Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Level 4 provides campers with a view of the spaceflight hardware and launch center for NASA at Kennedy Space Center and includes visits to the Rocket Garden, Early Spaceflight Exploration Center, Astronaut Hall of Fame and Cocoa Beach.
Participants also work at Space Florida to build their own payloads for weather balloons, which are then launched over 100,000 at Kennedy Space Center.
Level 4 tuition is $1700, which includes airfare to Kennedy Space Center. Level 1, 2 and 3 are pre-requisites for Level 4.
