Future Astronaut Training Program

X-Treme Level 5
12-Day Residential Camp
For students who have completed at least FATP level 3
Location: Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center & Beaver Lake (Arkansas)

  • Earn your Open Water SCUBA certification at Beaver Lake in Arkansas
  • Receive three hours of flight training in a single-engine airplane, with one hour loggable flight time
  • Challenge yourself on a dynamic high and low ropes course
  • Fly an extended Space Shuttle mission in the Falcon III shuttle simulator
  • Complete intense advanced training on camp simulators: stress simulator, centrifuge, multi-axis trainer and Mission Control

Tuition is $1695 and includes travel to Arkansas. Transportation between Wichita Mid-Continent Airport and the Cosmosphere is available for a fee. Level 5 prerequisites: student must be entering grades 11-12 and must have completed at least level 3.
